A fallen tree killed a grasscutter near Tebobon School

KOTA KINABALU – On Tuesday, June 11, a grasscutter died after a tree fell near an elementary school in Tebobon.

Around 9am, the 35-year old was cutting grass near SMK Tebobon and was crushed by a tree that fell.

Agustavia Guasi is the chief of Lintas Fire Station. He said that they received an emergency call at 9.08am, and dispatched a team.

The victim was crushed beneath the tree. “Our men had to cut off the branches to reach the larger trunk in order to free the victim,” she said.

She stated that medical officials on the scene declared the victim dead.

Agustavia said that the body was given to police for further action.
