A family in Johor is able to escape a house fire safely

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 4, a family in JOHOR BARU managed to escape their home at Taman Setia Tropika safely.

Shamsul Khomari Bakar, the chief of Tebrau Fire Station, said that they received a distress phone call at 5.39am about a house fire.

“We deployed 16 firefighters from Tebrau and Larkin with two Rescue Tenders (FRT) and one Emergency Medical Rescue Service”

M. Yogalingam led the operation. “When we arrived, the porch of the house was on fire with 40% damage,” he said.

Shamsul Khomari said that six people were inside the house at the time of its fire.

The family fled through the kitchen, located in the rear of the house. There were four children between the ages of seven and sixteen. “The fire also damaged a house next door as well as a motorcycle, an MPV and another home,” he added.

Shamsul Khamii said that the operation concluded at 7.33am, while the department is still investigating the cause and the loss assessment.
