A tugboat seized with 20,000 litres diesel off Pulau duyong

KUALA TERENGGANU – The Terengganu branch of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry seized 20,000 litres of Diesel and a tugboat estimated at RM312,000 on a fishing jetty in the vicinity of Pulau Duyong, Monday night (June 3).

After two weeks of surveillance, the raid was conducted by 10 enforcement officers and eight police officers.

A local man of 45 years, who was suspected to work on the tugboats, was arrested as well.

Initial findings suggest that the syndicate bought diesel on sea using the tugboat.

He added that the case was being investigated under 1961 Control of Supplies Act.
