Chinese diplomat: Youth dialogue between China and Tanzania helps promote bilateral relations

DAR ES SALAAM (Xinhua), June 5 – The China-Tanzania Youth Dialogue is essential to promoting bilateral ties between China and Tanzania, said Chen Mingjian, the Chinese ambassador in Tanzania.

She said that youth is the vitality of the friendship between China Tanzania. The dialogue was held at the Confucius Institute of the University of Dar es Salaam.

The dialogue was one of several activities held to commemorate the 60th anniversary since diplomatic relations were established between China and Tanzania.

Chen said that youths are active, creative and innovative and represent growth, rising and openness. He added that youth exchanges between China and Tanzania had become an increasingly important part of the people-to people exchanges between the two nations and their practical cooperation.

Patrobas Catambi, deputy minister of state in the Prime Minster’s Office, responsible for Labor, Youth, Employment, and Persons with Disability, has thanked China for the efforts it makes to promote youth development.

He said that such efforts could help create an environment favorable to combat unemployment and mental problems, particularly among youth.

Katambi said, “The large and growing global youth population can be an important and transformative force – if we make the right investments and take the right decisions now.”
