Fahmi asks MYGCC for public feedback on diesel subsidies

PUTRAJAYA – Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil called on the Malaysia Government Call Centre to collect data about the number of questions and calls received by the public in relation to the newly implemented targeted Diesel Subsidy System.

He told the media that the data would be compiled in the post-Cabinet meeting after the monthly ministry assembly on June 11, Tuesday.

He said: “On our part, the ministry will look at whether there are any consistent concerns raised about the diesel subsidy. We will then forward these to the relevant Ministries and the Cabinet.”

Fahmi wants MyGCC’s ability to respond to callers’ queries regarding diesel subsidies to be clear and concise.

The government announced last Sunday, June 9, that the retail price for diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will be RM3.35 a litre as of June 10, under the targeted subsidy scheme. Diesel prices in Sabah Sarawak and Labuan will remain at RM2.15 a litre.

MyGCC, a call centre that has a single 03-8000-8000 number, is designed to connect the public and government agencies.

MyGCC provides services to receive enquiries, complaints and suggestions. It also offers assistance with line transfers and can assist you in transferring lines. The system is available 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
