Govt allocates over RM1mil for Madani sale programme operators, says Ramanan

Petaling Jaya – Through the Cooperative Societies Commission of Malaysia (CSCM), the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry has allocated RM1.044mil as incentives to cooperatives that are appointed as operators of Madani Cooperative Sales Programme.

From January to June, Deputy Minister Datuk Ramanan Ramakrishnan revealed that 36 of the Madani sale programmes were held in 19 constituencies across the country.

The Madani Cooperative Sale has benefitted 90,535 customers, including the cooperative members and local community.

He told a media conference following a walkabout of the Madani Sales Programme organised by the cooperatives commission to coincide with the Hari Raya Aidiladha Celebration in Kota Damansara on Sunday (9 June).

Rusli J. Jaafar was the executive chairman of Cooperative Societies Commission of Malaysia.

Ramanan has also given contributions from the Cooperative Emergency Assistance Fund (CEAF) to cooperatives that have been affected by natural catastrophes.

He said that 11 applications had been approved so far under the emergency fund. The allocation for Malaysia is RM197,000.
