Headmaster killed, doctor hurt in head-on crash near Gua Musang

KOTA BARU – The headmaster of a local primary school died and a nearby doctor was injured in a car accident near KM71 Jalan Kota Baru – Gua Musang on Tuesday morning (June 4).

Kuala Krai OCPD supt Mazlan Mamat stated that the 26-year old doctor was driving from Gua Musang to Tanah Merah at 6.50am, when he lost his control and encroached onto the opposite lane. He then crashed into another vehicle driven by the 52 year-old headmaster.

The headmaster of the school died after receiving treatment in the Emergency Department of Hospital Sultan Ismail Petra, Kuala Krai.

The doctor who sustained chest injuries is being treated at HSIP.

In a press release, Supt. Mazlan stated that the case was being investigated in accordance with Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act. A thorough investigation would be conducted.

He encouraged anyone with information about the accident to contact Kuala Krai Traffic Police for assistance with investigations.
