MetMalaysia: Bad weather in the majority of Malaysian regions until Sunday

MetMalaysia (Malaysian Meteorological Department) says that rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue in many areas of the country until Sunday (9 June).

MetMalaysia’s infographic, shared on X by the National Disaster Management Agency(Nadma), predicts rain and thunderstorms in several states of the peninsula including the western and southern areas as well as in some parts of Sarawak and Sabah.

On Friday, June 7, afternoon and evening, thunderstorms are expected in Kedah and Perak. They will also hit Kelantan and Terengganu.

The west coast of Sabah is expected to experience thunderstorms, along with Tawau and Sandakan, and Kudat. In Sarawak, rain will be forecast in Kuching, Sarikei Mukah Bintulu Kapit Miri Limbang, Sibu Mukah Bintulu Kapit Kapit Miri Limbang, Bintulu Kapit Kapit, Bintulu and Bintulu.

Rain is forecast for Saturday, June 8, in Kedah and Penang, and thunderstorms are expected to affect several other areas, including Pahang, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.

Thunderstorms will be expected in several locations in Sarawak including Kapit, Bintulu and Miri.

On Sunday, June 9, thunderstorms are expected to hit Selangor, Negri Sembilan and Melaka, Perlis and Kedah as well as Pahang and Kuala Lumpur. Rain is also forecast for several locations in Sarawak including Sibu, Mukah Kapit, Miri, and Limbang.

Labuan, Kudat and Tawau on the west coast of Sabah are also expected to have similar weather conditions. Bernama
