Musa Mohamad, former education minister Musa Mohamad is laid to rest at Petaling Jaya

PETALING JAYA – The former Education Minister Tan Sri Musa Mohamad’s body was laid to rest on Sunday, June 9, at 10.40am in the Islamic Cemetery Section 9 of Kota Damansara.

Musa’s corps was brought earlier to Kota Damansara Mosque to be buried. Over 50 people attended the burial, including friends, family, and relatives.

Mohd Nordin Mat Sah, the son-in law of Mohd Nordin Mat Sah, expressed gratitude to all those who assisted with the arrangements for burial.

Musa, 81 years old, former Vice-Chancellor at Universiti Sains Malaysia, died at 7.12pm, Saturday, June 8, at a medical center in Petaling Jaya from multiple myeloma. This type of cancer is a blood cancer.

He was the only non-politician who held the position of Minister of Education from 1999 to 2004, a post he held between 1999 and 2004.

Musa held several important positions in addition to his work at USM. He was President of the Organisation of Ministers of Education in Southeast Asia (OMESA) from 2001 to2003.

He was the former chairman of Multimedia University, and the Chairman of UCSI University Council.
