MyDigital ID registration progressing in phases, says Rafizi

Rafizi Ramli, a civil servant in Kuala Lumpur, said that the MyDigital ID registration is being implemented in phases, before it can be fully integrated with all apps of the government.

The Minister of Economy said that the registration process will continue until November.

“The verification requirement is higher and must be done manually. Priority is given to biometrics, and the scaling up process is in progress.

Rafizi said that the Oil and Gas Services Equipment Census for 2024 was being conducted in phases.

The integration of MyDigital ID into government apps will also be phased, he added.

MyDigital ID will prove the identity of users when they conduct online transactions, benefiting both the public sector and the private sector.

The Prime Minister allocated RM80mil to Mimos in an announcement made on 21 November, last year. This was done to accelerate its implementation.
