The Agriculture Ministry’s training centers will see an increase in graduates employable in 2022

PUTRAJAYA : The employability of graduates from Agriculture and Food Security Ministry certified centres increased to 72.3% by 2022 compared to 66.3% by 2021.

In a press release issued on Thursday (6 June), the Agriculture Ministry announced that since 1969, its training centers have produced 24801 graduates.

The ministry stated that the increase in skilled manpower can enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of the country’s food industry on the global market.

The ceremony was officiated by Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security. 982 graduates were awarded certificates and diplomas.

The Ministry of Agriculture stated that graduates had nine certification areas including rice production, ruminant agriculture, marine aquaculture and crops. They also received three certificates from departments within the ministry, namely, the Agriculture Certificate and the Malaysian Veterinary Certificate.

Arthur revealed that the Ministry had allocated RM26,3mil to maintain infrastructure at centres certified by it. This will provide well-maintained training facilities for trainees and support 14 national development programmes.
