The boys’ dormitory of Terengganu School catches fire once again

KUALA BERANG – The boys’ dormitory at SM Sains Hulu Terengganu caught fire early on Tuesday morning (June 4), following a fire that occurred on a different level on May 12.

Zulhisham Mohamad Yusof, the chief of Kuala Berang Fire Station, said that they received a distress signal from the dormitory authorities around 1.57am. Nine firefighters were dispatched in two fire engines to the scene.

He said that the fire was in a room of 4.5m by 4.5m (15 feet by 15 feet) size on the 4th floor. It was 80% destroyed.

Zulhisham said that no injuries had been reported, and the cause of fire is still unknown.

Last month, it was reported that 10 students from a boarding school narrowly escaped a fire at 3.30am which destroyed 70% of their dormitory.
