Three Customs Officers on Trial for Corruption

SEREMBAN: At the Sessions Court in Sereban, three Customs Department officials have been accused of accepting bribes as an incentive from the owner of a transport firm to allow the loaded lorries on his company’s behalf to pass through KL International Airport without inspection.

Earizal Mohd. Khalil (43), Ngu Su Siew (35), and Mohd. Izuwan Mohd. Ali (32) all pleaded no contest to the charges after they were separately read before Judge Meor Sulaiman Ahmed Tarmizi.

Earizal received three charges for accepting RM2,950 between May 28, 2017, and March 3, 2018, from an individual.

Ngu was accused of accepting RM3,000 in December 2022. Mohd. Izuwan, on the other hand, was charged twice with accepting RM1,200 between August 23, 2019 and March 3 2020.

Cash was allegedly transferred via online banking into their accounts.
