Three Pulau Tikus policemen under investigation after a ‘bundle’ of money found on a policeman

Bukit Aman is investigating three policemen from Pulau Tikus Police Station for alleged misconduct, after a policeman carrying “a bundle of money” was discovered.

The Bukit Aman Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (JIPS) is investigating the three, according to George Town OCPD Asst Comm Razlam ab Hamid.

This issue was raised after a Telegram message revealed that Bukit Anan JIPS had conducted checks in the task force room of Pulau Tikus Police Station last Friday.

A policeman carrying a slingbag was found to have a bundle of notes totaling RM500.

When the team was inspecting station compound, another corporal tried to speed away on his motorcycle.

He was not able to produce an identity document or a driving licence when the team stopped him.

The team discovered a total amount of RM 1,903 in his sling bag.

The two policemen did not explain how they got the money.

A second police officer, a lance-caporal, tested positive for methamphetamine.

The three police officers have all been charged with a crime.
