Two men escape separate road accidents in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU – A man crawled out of his car when it overturned at KM17 on the Lahad Datu – Tawau road, Wednesday night (June 5).

Mohd Ishak Amran, Senior Assistant Fire Comm at the Sabah Fire and Rescue Services Department said that a team consisting of nine men were dispatched after the department received a distress call around 11.02pm.

Our team arrived on the scene at about 20km from the station by 11.23pm. “The victim received initial treatment on the scene, before being sent to Lahad Datu Hospital for further medical care,” he added.

The victim, a 47-year old man, lost control of his vehicle before it flipped over on the roadside.

In the early morning hours of June 6, firemen in this area rescued an injured man from a car that was involved in a second accident on Jalan Mahkamah.

Mohd. Ishak stated that a group of nine men had arrived on the scene just six minutes after the call for help was received at 3.29am.

He said that “the initial investigation revealed that the victim lost control of his car before veering along the roadside”, adding that the operation was completed at 4.10am.
