Woman dies after car crashes into guardrail in Sibu

SIBU: Two people were injured and a woman killed when their car crashed into a guardrail on Jalan Kelupu – Julau – Durin, as they headed towards the Julau Flyover.

Nicholas Belulin, chief of Bintangor Fire and Rescue Station, said that the deceased has been identified as Eveely Emilya Epah (22), who was the passenger in the front.

Wilson Ajut (25), the husband of the victim, was injured on his left hand, he said.

Linda Ujang (19) fractured her leg.

He stated that an emergency was reported at 10.15pm Sunday, and a team of firefighters was sent to the scene.

Arriving at the scene, they discovered that the victim had been trapped in the passenger’s seat. The driver was able to escape.

Bernama reported that he stated in a press release that the rear passenger had been rescued by medical personnel.

Special equipment was used by firefighters to extricate the deceased from the crushed car.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department’s initial information, the incident happened when the three were traveling from Betong, located in the southern portion of Sarawak, to Song, Kapit in the central area of the state.
